Cut back late summer and autumn flowering Clematis (Group 3) 12″ from ground level.
Prune autumn fruiting raspberries cutting all stems down to ground level.
Prune Wisteria and Campsis by cutting back the side shoots around 2″ to two or three buds.
Tidy strawberry plants by removing old, dead or diseased leaves and any remaining runners.
Lift and divide clumps of snowdrops and winter aconites once they finish flowering.
Apply a 3″ layer of well rotted or garden compost around perennial crops such as asparagus, jerusalem artichokes and rhubarb.
Sow broad beans 2-3″ deep directly in the ground or in pots of multipurpose potting compost.
Plant shallot sets 6″ apart with the tips just under the soil surface.
